...to the home for the British independent film production company Coffee Films.

Established as a short film collective playing with camcorders in 1996, Coffee Films incorporated in 2003 and within a year was recognised as one of Europe's leading young production companies. Progressing to documentaries on music and wildlife we gained critical acclaim for the film Last of the Scottish Wildcats as only the second company to film Britain's rarest mammal.

Well into our second decade we're currently producing a slate of exciting feature length projects including The Death and Resurrection Show on the influential post-punk/industrial band Killing Joke, Oday a drama on hacking, hacktivism and a world of whistleblowers, more wildlife projects and a slate of drama/thriller movies. We're looking forward to continuing to create outstanding independent films for another ten years, still motivated by the words of Francis Ford Coppola that set us on our way;

"One day some little fat girl in Ohio is gonna be the new Mozart, and make a beautiful film with her little father's camera corder and for once the so called professionalism about movies will be destroyed, forever, and it will really become an artform."

We've tried to keep it in mind. Enjoy your stay.

SPRING 2018
After a decade with Killing Joke shooting the music documentary feature The Death and Resurrection Show, and a couple of years out shooting a pile of music content with Young Thugs Records and various independent musicians, we move into 2018 going into pre-production for our first new feature film in ten years, with three more features on the slate and a bunch of interesting short-form projects in development.

PRE-PRODUCTION: ZER0DAY: DRAMA FEATURE FILM
Zer0day is a micro-budget feature project easing us back into fiction filmmaking, with a fact based drama/thriller exploration of the post-Snowden, post-Cambridge-Analytica world of hacking, Internet privacy and mass surveillance. The film is also a return to fiction directing for producer Steve Piper, 12 years on from being awarded by MIFED as one of Europe's most exciting emerging directors. Currently deep into pre-production for shooting over summer and autumn, more details imminent.

POST-PRODUCTION: YOUNG THUGS RECORDS: LIVE SESSIONS
We've been working with Yorkshire's Young Thugs Records for the past two years on a stack of music videos, live sessions and short documentaries. Currently in post we're cutting live sessions with Joel Whitaker, Amy May Ellis, Naked Six, LUUNA and The Black Lagoons.

DEVELOPMENT: FEATURE LENGTH AND SHORT FORM PROJECTS
Three dramatic features are currently slated to follow Zer0day, with the working titles Roads, Cards and Snow, all currently in script development. At the earliest stages of concept development we're also exploring some short film drama projects, and an ongoing series of short documentaries on a range of social issues intended for web-based platforms and VOD.

OUT NOW: THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION SHOW: KILLING JOKE MUSIC DOCUMENTARY
The Death and Resurrection Show is a critically acclaimed feature length music documentary on the legendary British post-punk band Killing Joke. It took 12 years from start to finish, premiered at a sold out special screening in BFI Southbank's NFT1, ran at a pile of film festivals, enjoyed a short UK cinema run and has been screening worldwide on TV with AMC/Sundance. Currently available on Blu-Ray and DVD direct from www.killingjokemovie.com.

OUT NOW: LAST OF THE SCOTTISH WILDCATS: CURRENT AFFAIRS WILDLIFE DOCUMENTARY
Last of the Scottish Wildcats, our critically acclaimed foray into wildlife and current affairs filmmaking, is available on DVD from ourselves online and through all major UK retailers. Shot almost 15 years ago the legacy of the project is a significant increase in public awareness of these animals, and the amazing fieldwork conservation project Wildcat Haven. Funded early on by grants from, and inspired by, the film, the project has run for a decade creating over 1,000 square miles of threat-free space for the UK's most endangered and elusive species, and has been praised by Humane Society International, Cats Protection and the Captive Animals Protection Society as a world-leading example of compassionate conservation.
